I hate needles (and hospitals for that matter), but I hate them even more today.

Yesterday, I brought Henry in to the lab to get tested for lead poisoning. This test is long overdue. In fact, I requested that we get the test early and then failed to bring him in, largely because I hate needles. And, hospitals.

I finally brought him in yesterday and, as expected, I was asked to hold Henry while the technician went to work. Yet, I was so focused on the needle that when the first needle went in, I failed to hold Henry’s arm as he quickly pulled it back. Thankfully, the second attempt was a success. I am sure I could not have handled a third attempt.

Henry did not cry, but instead handled everything with great maturity. Henry is so incredibly mild mannered, yet so ready to explore.
